Project Overview:
Employed as a subcontractor by the client, Davinte Ltd, JSR was tasked to infill an unused swimming pool as part of a renovation project to convert the former pool into additional canteen space.
Technical Information:
Working to a tight schedule, the JSR team began works at the Q3 Academy by drilling dowels into the pool perimeter, in order to key the finished slab. Following this, the pool was lined with polythene and filled up to 150mm below the surface with 182m3 of lean mix concrete that was pumped from the car park. A process that involved meticulous planning to ensure the concrete was continuously delivered to the site, within the allocated time slot.
Once the concrete infill had set and hardened sufficiently, reinforced mesh was laid and the final surface capping layer was then cast with a 150mm thick reinforced slab with power float finish and surface curing agent applied.
Results:
The project was completed as part of a major refurbishment to provide additional canteen space to the facility, with the high standard of works JSR completed allowing the renovations to continue on time and in line with the programme of works.
Customer feedback:
“The team at JSR Construction delivered a first class job, on a tight programme, on budget.”
