Project overview:
Working locally to the head office in Bridgnorth, Shropshire, JSR was approached by GD Bower & Sons to install a new concrete floor to a recently built steel portal frame building.
Technical Information:
Works began laying and compacting the sub base of MOT type 1, laying the membrane and then casting the slab. The floor was cast in one day, covering 1030m2.
The slab laid was 175mm thick with a perimeter isolation joint, with one of our laser screed machines ensuring that an accurate surface level was achieved.
The final finish of the floor was a power float with a surface curing agent to help retain moisture in the slab during the curing process. Finally, saw cut contraction joints were cut on a six metre gridline to induce cracking.
Results:
JSR transformed the uneven surface over a two day period, leaving a durable surface for GD Bower & Sons for years to come.
JSR was approached as a result of good word of mouth in the local area, however, we are capable of delivering these services much further afield.
